The IACBAM Webinar Series

The IACBAM Webinar Series is a monthly serie of webinars, dedicated to the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Each month, IACBAM brings a leading expert to share a unique, in-depth perspective on CBAM-related topics, ranging from customs and pricing to sustainability and macroeconomic developments.

The series is designed to provide practical insights, strategic context, and forward-looking analysis for professionals navigating CBAM compliance and impact.

With CBAM now moving from transition to application, recently released information is revealing how the European Commission’s new regulations will be implemented as emissions-based import costs.

In this webinar, Jon Carruthers-Green a Steel Market Analyst from MEPS International, examines how the Commission’s December disclosures are already influencing import prices, what this means for the competitiveness of key supplying countries, and how these dynamics could influence Europe’s domestic steel prices.

The session will also address ongoing uncertainties, including EU ETS price exposure, the use of verified emissions data to reduce costs, and recent proposals that may introduce flexibility into CBAM’s administration.

Global CBAM Summit 2026

Advancing CBAM Through Dialogue, Practice and Shared Responsibility

Save the date: a unique experience on May 28 in the heart of Prague.

This is going to be something.

The IACBAM Summit 2026 brings together policymakers, verifiers, industry leaders, importers, exporters, customs experts, and technology experts to explore how the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) can further develop into a credible, workable, and trusted system.

The International Association for the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism aims to provide a neutral space for open, equal dialogue, inviting both speakers and participants to reflect on how CBAM can continue to evolve to serve everyone’s long-term interests.

Throughout the day, speakers will share lessons learned and practical insights during panel discussions, while gaining hands-on experience through a series of in-depth masterclasses covering key topics across the CBAM ecosystem.

Based on discussions and insights gathered during the Summit, IACBAM will compile a concise overview of key lessons learned to contribute to the broader CBAM dialogue.

To facilitate that dialogue, the event will be moderated by a leading CBAM journalist, with contributions from a verification body (SGS), Carbon Specialists (Carbon Chain), presentations from well-known suppliers and importers, and perspectives from governmental representatives.

We’ll announce the list of speakers soon.

Through multiple masterclasses, participants will gain clear insights into verification, CBAM cost calculations, and a deep dive into how CBAM is reshaping the customs landscape.

Our ambition is simple: to move CBAM one step forward in the right direction. Together.

Join us for a dynamic day of knowledge exchange, practical insights, and meaningful networking in the mesmerizing city of Prague.

Note: The event will allow for maximum 100 participants.

Members of IACBAM and associated associations will have the opportunity to purchase tickets at a discounted rate first.
