The company FERRO-PREIS DOO was founded at the beginning of 1991 in Čakovec, as the successor of the former Čakovec Foundry. Since then, we have continued the long-standing tradition of developing and manufacturing products from gray cast iron (European Standard EN GJL) and nodular cast iron (European Standard EN GJS) for various purposes. Our main products are, for example, electric motor and generator housings, pump housings and parts, bearing housings and a whole range of other industrial components made of gray and nodular cast iron. The production program ranges from 0.5 kg to 2,000 kg per position, starting with individual production on manual molding, and medium and large volumes on the modern world-class horizontal molding line EFA SD 5, that is, on the automatic vertical line DISAMATIC 2013 Mk5B. We must emphasize that we are proud of our specific production of pipes, using the centrifugal casting method.
Our foundry has the following molding lines:
- Automatic vertical line – DISAMATIC 2013 MK5-B – mold dimensions 650x535x120-360mm, which implies the use of models with dimensions 600x480x120-360mm – suitable for products up to 15 kg and for large series of 1,000 pcs and more
- Horizontal line – EFA SD 5, manufactured by HWS Sinto – mold dimensions 1000x920x280/320+50 mm – suitable for products weighing up to 250 kg, minimum series of 40 molds or more
- Manual molding – suitable for individual production and small series of positions up to 2,000 kg
- Centrifugal casting – pipe production according to all European standards
In addition to casting itself, we offer machining and surface protection services. In parallel with the production of industrial components according to customer specifications, we develop our own product – a certified SML and KML system of drainage pipes, fittings, connectors and other drainage products under the FP PREIS® brand. We sell more than 90% of our production on export markets, mainly to customers from the European Union (Austria, Germany, Ireland, Italy, France, Scandinavia…).
With an annual production of approx. 10,000 tons of castings and around 200 employees, Ferro-Preis is today one of the leading gray and ductile iron foundries in Southeastern Europe. The company strives to offer clients complete production solutions, consulting services and own design. Ferro-Preis foundry has been operating successfully as part of the PREIS Group from Austria for almost 3 decades.
